The Story
Where the Land Meets the Light
There's a feeling you get standing on the grounds at Seneca Ridge, where five acres of open field and farmland roll out beneath you and Seneca Lake stretches into the distance, that everything is exactly where it's supposed to be. Shawna and Chris felt it, and so did everyone who came to celebrate with them.
Their ceremony began at the back of the beautifully restored 19th century home, where they descended the pillar lined steps through the garden and into the open air. The Finger Lakes breeze carried the sound of vows across the field. Butterflies drifted through the wildflowers. The sun, as if it had cleared its schedule, delivered one of those Seneca Lake sunsets that you just can't believe is real.
By the time dinner was served beneath the iconic sailcloth tent, airy, romantic, and glowing with string lights, the evening had taken on that golden hour quality that makes everything feel more beautiful than it already is.
"The Finger Lakes breeze carried the vows across the field, and the sunset did the rest."
