Darren Young- Rochester wedding videographer - since 2009

Behind the Lens

Some photographers and videographers will tell you they discovered their passion early. For me, it was a feeling I couldn't shake. A wedding day is one of the few moments in life when everything that matters happens all at once, and someone needs to be trusted to hold it.

I've been that person for over 400 couples since 2009. From intimate ceremonies in the Finger Lakes to grand celebrations at Rochester's most iconic venues, I've spent more than fifteen years learning how a wedding day breathes. Where the emotion lives, when to move closer, and when to simply be still and let a moment unfold on its own.

My approach blends documentary instinct with cinematic intention. I move through your day quietly and without interruption, reading the room the way you'd hope someone trusted with your most important memories would. But I also bring an editorial eye to every frame. The way light falls, the way a glance between two people tells an entire story. The result is a film that feels both true and timeless.

I've been married to my wife Jessica since 2007, and together we're raising two teenagers. That's not a detail I share lightly. It's the reason I understand what you're actually asking me to do. You're not hiring a vendor. You're trusting someone with the way your wedding day will be remembered for the rest of your life, by you, your children, and eventually people you'll never meet.

I accept a limited number of weddings each year by design. Every couple who books with me receives my full attention from our first conversation through the final delivery of your film. When coverage calls for it, I bring a trusted second shooter whose work meets the same standard as my own. Nothing is left to chance.

If you've watched a film on this site and felt something, that's exactly what this is meant to do. I'd love to hear about your day.
